Life As a Career Woman

I graduated in college last March 2018; I was thinking of when I will take the Licensure Examination for Teachers. I have two choices, either March or September. I heard that the exam is easier in March than in September. But if I’ll take the exam on September, I have lesser time to review. I was anxious. So, I prayed about it and the Lord reminded me through His word on the Bible to never rely on my own knowledge but to acknowledge and trust only in Him. So, by the grace of God, I took and passed the licensure Examination for Teachers last September 2018.

After I got my licensed as a Professional Teacher, the reality of life struck me. I was under pressured to find a job but the journey wasn’t easy. My first job was as a substitute teacher for six months, followed by working as a Principal secretary. When that Principal transferred, I was left behind jobless again. So, I tried to apply and waited for the next door of opportunity. While waiting, the Lord deposited in my heart to serve Him. So, I actively involved again in a values-oriented international organization in Eastern Visayas, known as “Cru Eastern Visayas” where I enjoyed it a lot; Mentoring and teaching college student on how to share the love of God to others.

As I enjoyed serving the Lord, here comes the blessing of a new job. My friend called me and told me that there’s a principal who is looking for a personal secretary. With no delayed I took the opportunity. Since then, until present, I am still here working as a principal’s personal secretary, while waiting for the bigger things ahead of me – as a Public School Teacher.

Life is tough so I need to be tougher. I learned to embrace and endured hardships. Looking back, the journey wasn’t easy. But as I look ahead, I know there’s so much more the Lord has stored for me. One of the stepping stone to my goal of success is through this master's degree. The journey may be long and difficult, as long as I know who’s with me, I will be okay.
